Welcome to the World of Out There Events
Following the merger of established Manchester based events agency, Out There Events,and Timpson-owned Production and Theming Company, LSS,
nearly 12 months ago, we thought it was high time we introduced ourselves and gave you a snapshot of what we do.
Manic Months
It is fair to say May and June were pretty manic months even by our standards – but we’re relieved to report we all got through it and
managed to delight all of our customers along the way!
Prestigious Ceremony
We began the month of events at Oulton Hall near Leeds where we delivered a prestigious blacktie awards ceremony for Yorkshire based Finance Directors and Finance professionals. Out There Events created this event with our
Client, Sharp Consultancy, and are pleased at how much the event had grown in 2 years. We then bobbed back to Manchester for the Bupa Great Manchester Run to provide the technical equipment for the national press
conference – our project manager Roly even got to meet one of his
sporting heroes, sprinter Tyson Gaye.
New Client
JAM Recruitment is a new client of ours; they are Manchesterbased and employ over 120 people. They were looking for a staff conference with a twist and we provided that by getting the Boomwhackers involved - two mad eccentric musicians who managed to get 120 people to create a melody using fluorescent coloured tubes. After 20 minutes the team actually achieved it - you have to hear it to believe it! Charity Events We are always ready to do our bit for charity and have been helping out at the Frodsham Charity
for a number of years, providing staging, sound and our engineers to make it all work. Who knows, today Frodsham Music Festival tomorrow…
Glastonbury?!
Madness
The madness really increased on 24th May when the team went to
Belfast to deliver a conference for Yell.com. The conference unfortunately
took place the week the heavens decided to open and thunderstorms were erupting all over the UK. The ferry crossing was a disaster, with boats cancelled
and delayed which meant our truck with the kit and technical team arrived over 12 hours late and the team had to work throughout the night to get the
event ready. Ever the professionals, we still delivered a seamless show and the audience of 350 were none-the-wiser and really loved the speech made by Gerald Ratner.
Mixology
The team then headed down to London to deliver one of our biggest events of the year, Mixology, an office furniture, interiors and design awards. Over 1,200 party goers packed Old Billingsgate and after the awards ceremony
they were treated to a brilliant DJ set by Jeremy Healy – even the Out There
team couldn’t stop themselves throwing a few shapes on the dance floor once
our work was done! Best of all the client re-booked our services on the spot for next year.
Big Chip Awards
John Thomson (of TV’s Cold Feet fame) helped the team host the which took Big Chip Awards place in Manchester and celebrated all that is great and good
in the world of web design, creative and digital sectors. Another even later night for the team with guests still partying at 4a.m.
Product Launch
In between this series of awards Ceremonies Out There Events was delighted to be awarded the contract to deliver a national product launch for Kohler Daryl (shower enclosures). This was a very unique project where we built a ‘mini showroom’ within a marquee to display the product effectively for potential customers. We also delivered the full conference set and equipment and were on site for all 3 days.
Glitzy
Within the same week the team was also back in Manchester delivering the Energy Innovation Awards at the glitzy Hilton Hotel. Another event created by Out There, this black-tie ceremony recognises excellence for those working in the renewables / sustainable energy sector. Comedian Mark Steele hosted the event and managed to get a bunch of engineers laughing down the aisles -
not an easy task!
So there you go – easy really! We hope this has given you a better idea of what we get up to from day to day and I would like to pass on huge thanks to everyone in the Out There team, together with our colleagues in Timpson
House and Chestergates, for helping us along the way.
